About: Create Together is a collaborative project brought to life by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and his artists' platform HitRecord. While he hosts, creatives from around the world submit assets in narration, graphic design, illustration, writing, photography, and videography to be included in the show. My season focused on one of my favorite topics: Nature.
Position: Producer
In my role as producer, I was assigned one episode to own (which is the one you see on this page) and then to contribute on an as-needed basis for the other episodes. On the HitRecord side, this unique format required me to quickly learn the platform to interact with their global community of artists, conceptualize and write clear and engaging project prompts, review submissions, select works to be included in the episode, and get clearance and any further assets from participants. On the story side, I researched, pitched, and booked subject experts for the series, wrote interview questions, conducted interviews, did archival search and acquisition, and worked closely with the editors to bring all of the many elements into the episode. Additionally, I wrote preliminary scripts for Joseph Gordon-Levitt's hosting segments.
Production Secret: Emmy-Nominated and we've never even met...
This show was produced in 2021, and was entirely remote. Bringing people to virtually create together from all over the world, the team in LA held many video conferences, and even conducted and captured our expert interviews over zoom. For our work, we were later collectively nominated for an Emmy, but had never even met in person.
