About: Citrix Systems is a cloud computing company that has an annual conference for which they use a video series to both entertain and educate their team. The on-camera talent is strictly employees, and the writing is a collaboration with our team and theirs.
Position: Producer, Editor
As a producer, I worked with our assistants to create, purchase, and manage props, direct on-camera personalities, and DIT. In the edit, I chose to go for a “Workaholics” (Comedy Central) style with quick beats, fast music, and over the top sound effects.
Production Secret: Colada
If you're ever filming with local crews in South Florida, take this tip to heart: every crafty and meal break must include colada. It's a cuban espresso brewed with espresso beans and sugar together. On most projects in this region, you'll find the set assistants go around with espresso cups and a pot of Colada after each meal break. This gesture of cultural inclusion on set is an important part of the scene down in SoFlo that most other regions are unaware of, but locally some production companies go as far as having branded colada moka pots for their crews on each job.
